In Joy or Sorrow...

The Church is here to serve the people of this Parish. At St Augustine’s we try to respond positively to the needs of those who seek …….

A Place of Celebration, Comfort and Blessing

Baptism

We welcome all families in our Parish who bring their children for baptism, and encourage you to do so. We believe that children have a special place within the love of God, and within the life of our community. Baptism is a wonderful way to celebrate new life among us and to offer thanks for the wonderful gift of our children.

Marriage

At the heart of our community is marriage and family life, and the Wedding Ceremony plays an important and vital role within our society. We are here to help people prepare for this big step in their lives, to make the ritual of marriage a meaningful and joyful occasion, and to offer any support we can give to couples and families as they begin this new life together.

Funerals

The last thing that we remember about a person tends to be the funeral service. We believe it to be a very important and special moment in which we celebrate and give thanks for our loved one’s life and gifts. You are always very welcome to arrange for that service to take place in your church here at St Augustine’s. We are always willing to give you support at these difficult times.

Blessings

We believe that God shares with us every aspect of life and the church is here to help you experience that in a number of ways. Many come to ask God’s Blessing on joyful events such as celebrating anniversaries, renewing marriage vows, or on the birth of a new born child. Others come to ask God’s Blessing during more difficult times such as when facing a time of illness, awaiting an operation, or simply going through a testing time. Please do not be afraid to ask.
