Restoration News
The new wall has cost about £200,000 so fundraising
has continued since the re-launch of the Restoration Fund in July. We have had
some successful events and some generous donations but we still need to raise
almost £100,000.
We were very fortunate that Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Patron of our Restoration Appeal, came to dedicate our new wall at our Patronal Festival on 20th May.

BOOK ON CHURCH CRAFTSMEN
The magnificent book on church craftsmen by Sir Ian Mills has, at last, arrived from the binders. All those who have purchased the book can collect their copies from me.
We have received a cheque for £1,155 for our Restoration Fund through the sale of these books.
This book is of particular interest to members of St. Augustine’s as it includes a chapter on the De Wispelaere family of woodcarvers from Brughes which is illustrated by many pages of full colour photographs of our own reredos and other wood carvings.
A number of people have recently asked if copies of the book are still available and I have managed to obtain the last few copies from the author. These may be purchased from me at £30 each with the entire proceeds going to the Restoration Fund.
